Meet the Team
I have worked in early childhood for over 25 years and joined One Tree Hill Kindergarten in 2006. Before this I worked in a variety of day-care centres mainly with under twos. I have also worked in Canada and England as a nanny.
Most of my family live in England and when I can I love to go and visit them and of course I still love visiting Canada and the friends I made while living there. I enjoy exploring New Zealand, scrap booking my travel photos, walking, gardening and spending time with friends.
I trained as a kindergarten teacher at Auckland Teachers College where I graduated with a diploma in 1986. I have taught at a number of different kindergartens in Auckland and before starting my family I was Head Teacher at Cuthbert Kindergarten in Onehunga. I enjoy working at One Tree Hill Kindergarten where I have been teaching since 2003. I have lived in Onehunga since 1989 with my husband Robert and we have 3 children. I love going for walks in Cornwall Park, reading and watching sport.
I have enjoyed working with children for over twenty years in England, Scotland and New Zealand. I emigrated from England in 2004 and I enjoy living in this community. I am a mother of two boys, Seth and Joseph. In my spare time I enjoy flax weaving, developing my cooking skills and spending time with my boys. I graduated from Auckland University in 2013 and I have relieved in different centres before joining the team here in August 2014.
I have over 10 years of experience in early childhood education. My family and I moved to New Zealand more than 30 years ago from Hong Kong. I initially gained a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland, however my passion for working with children led me to retrain and I gained my Diploma of Teaching (ECE) in 2001. I have worked in a range of early childhood centres & kindergartens locally and overseas. I live in One Tree Hill with my husband and enjoy spending time with our four fur babies (cats).
I came to New Zealand when I was 21. I meet a great kiwi guy (now my better half), moved to New Zealand and have two wonderful children.
I have been working within customer services/admin for more than 20 years now and have extensive knowledge of various systems within the logistics, export, import, hospitality and now educational sector. I have been with One Tree Hill Kindy since 2012.
I enjoy my everyday busy life with two school aged children and the occasional travelling within NZ and abroad where we mainly visit family and friends in Denmark and England.
Kia Ora whānau. I am very fortunate to have been a part of the One Tree Hill Kindergarten community as a parent since 2008. I have been a stay at home Mum for the past 18 years. This is where I developed an interest and passion for the early years, leading me to complete a Bachelor of Education (ECE). In my spare time I love to read, bake, go for walks through Cornwall Park and go to the movies
When we have the opportunity my husband Godfrey and I love to take our tamariki away on adventures to Waipu Cove and Opononi in the Hokianga.
I have been working in education for nearly 30 years, teaching in both the primary and early childhood sectors, and came to One Tree Hill Kindy in 2016. I am fortunate to live in Greenlane, so am able to walk regularly in Cornwall Park. I also enjoy the beach, reading, and catching up with friends and family. My husband Peter and I have 3 children, and 7 grandchildren, who we love spending time with.
I have been an early childhood educator for around 10 years in the local community, and started at the Kindy in 2016. I am passionate about providing a variety of experiences that engage and follow children’s interests. I live with my husband and lovely daughters. I also have a keen interest in retro and vintage collecting in my spare time, this comes through in some of my fashion choices : )
